Featured in Miss Moody’s Tearoom is the work of a local artist, his prints and paintings are available for sale through King John’s House

Rob Johnson

 Rob is a versatile artist working from his studio in the market town of Romsey working across the media, his subjects vary widely from modestly sized studies of local view in line and watercolour to large canvases featuring aviation, marine and heritage railway scenes.

A onetime member of the Guilds of Aviation and Railway Artists, Rob has exhibited at their annual exhibitions.

Rob appeared in the BBC “Painters” series on BBC South ant BBC2

In the 1990s Rob was commissioned by Royal Worcester to paint the series of 12 original oils for the collector’s plate series of the much loved “Darling Buds of May” Yorkshire TV Programmes.

Following on from this he was commissioned to paint eight oil paintings for a collector’s plate series of the famous “Orient Express” for Gersham (Germany).

Rob’s work has appeared regularly in local exhibitions over the years, and is an enthusiastic supporter of the popular shows held here at the historic and fascinating King John’s House.
